A little about smudging -The smudging ceremony is a custom of Native American and other indigenous cultures. For centuries many cultures have used smudging as a way to create a cleansing smoke bath that is used to purify the body, aura, energy, ceremonial/ritual space or any other space and personal articles. The leaves of white sage are one type of common smudge, though lemongrass, Cedar, and Sage are also quite common.

How to Smudge:
1. Grab your smudge stick, something to light it (matches, lighter, candle, etc.), and a bowl or similar device to collect ash.
2. Light smudge stick while praying, or simply focusing your energy. Leave it burning just enough to smoke, but not enough to continue to flame.
3. Hold the smudge stick over the bowl, and walk clockwise around your desired space to cleanse, while lightly waving, fanning, or blowing the smoke into the air.
4. When finished, put out the smudge stick in the bowl, and store for further use!
